Woah! It’s finally happened, I’ve begun my own basketry workshops and I’m loving every minute of it.
For those new to the site, a big hello! My name is Tani and I’ve been passionately weaving baskets for about 10 years now as a hobby. It was one of the many crafts my mother introduced me to and I absolutely fell in love with it. I’ve done many workshops since, dabbled in a few markets as a stallsholder (man they are hard work!), but mostly just stockpiled many many many baskets (oh yes they filled up a lot of space, including the back of our vintage Morris Minor panel van), until now.
I talked so much to friends and family about making baskets and how much I love it…well sometimes you just gotta go do the thing you love out there in the big wide world.
I’m passionate about natural fibres and about sustainable products, weaving a lot with pest weeds that are overwhelming many native bushland areas. So if you love nature, using your hands to create practical and beautiful items for daily use or want to learn a new skill this is the place. So come and create with me, all the workshops are designed for beginners!

In my workshops you will learn about:
- Natural plant fibres – collecting, drying, weaving
- Coiling and twining techniques
- Different stitched weave techniques
- How to shape your basket or vessel
